MyPewScore is a social app for competitive shooters, operated by PewScore LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've written it to be readable, not just legally defensible — if something is unclear, ask us.
When you create an account you provide:
You may link your account to an official competition record. To verify ownership we temporarily collect your phone number to send a one-time SMS code. The phone number is used only for this verification and is not stored in your social profile or shared with other users.
When you use the app you may create:
Post visibility ("Public", "Followers", or "Squad") is set by you at the time of posting.
When you submit feedback through the app we collect your message and category (Bug, Idea, or Praise), along with automatically captured device context: app version, OS version, and device model. This helps us reproduce and fix issues.
We collect standard technical data when you use the app:
Both Sentry and PostHog are tied to your account's user ID once you sign in, so analytics data is associated with your account, not anonymous.
If you opt in to push notifications, your device's APNs token is sent to our servers and associated with your account. We use it only to deliver notifications about activity relevant to you (follows, reactions, comments, challenges, and feedback replies). You can opt out at any time in the You tab or in iOS Settings.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to serve third-party ads.
What other users can see depends on your profile visibility setting:
Posts set to "Squad" visibility are only visible to members of that squad. Leaderboards display your handle and rating to users in the same scope (division, region, squad, or follows).
When you block a user they cannot see your profile or content. The blocked user is not notified of the block.
We use Sentry to capture crashes and errors. Sentry receives your user ID, device type, OS version, app version, and the stack trace of any error. Data is stored on Sentry's US infrastructure.
We use PostHog to understand how features are used. PostHog receives your user ID and event data (e.g., "created a post", "joined a squad"). No personally identifiable information beyond your user ID is sent. Data is stored on PostHog's US infrastructure. There is no session recording or screen capture.
All social data — profiles, posts, squads, follows — is stored in our Supabase-managed database, hosted on AWS in the United States. MyPewScore shares a backend with the PewScore app; your account covers both.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers authenticate you and return a token to our app. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. Apple Sign-In lets you hide your email address; we respect that choice.
Push notifications are delivered through Apple's APNs infrastructure. Apple receives your device token; we do not share any profile data with Apple beyond what is required to deliver a notification payload.
MyPewScore uses your microphone only during live drill sessions when you activate the built-in shot timer. Audio is processed on-device in real time to detect shot sounds and measure splits. Audio is not recorded or transmitted to our servers.
When composing a post, you may attach a photo selected from your Photos library. The selected image is uploaded to our servers and associated with that post. We access your library only when you actively use the photo picker — we do not scan or index your library in the background.
The app does not request or use camera access.
The app does not access your GPS location. Home state is a region code you choose from a list — it is not derived from your device's location services.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (You tab → Delete Account), your profile, posts, comments, reactions, follows, squad memberships, and all other social data are permanently deleted. This deletion also removes your account from the PewScore app, as both share one backend. Deletion cannot be undone.
Anonymised crash and error data in Sentry and aggregate event data in PostHog may be retained for up to 90 days after account deletion per those services' default policies.
MyPewScore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make material changes we will notify you through the app or by email. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
